WFH – Work From Home. Are you doing it? Do you love it or hate it? I’m doing it right now. Here are 3 suggestions for staying on track during this strange time.
- Make sure you and your assistant keep updated on the temporary procedures of the different jurisdictions in which you practice. It may even vary from judge to judge so keep those directives and orders in a place that’s easily accessible.
- Stay vigilant about maintaining client confidentiality. If you’re going to have files at home, use videoconferencing or even speak to clients via telephone more than normal, figure out a place to do that privately.
- Every day prioritize what’s most important to accomplish that day. In this time of stay-in-place orders and social distancing, I’m not trying to learn a new language or get 6 pack abs. Do what you need to do to get through every day and let that be enough.
One final thought. When it is time to go back to your normal life, what parts of your normal life do you actually want back? Don’t just ask yourself that. Ask your assistant, your kids, and your significant other. You may be surprised what they say.
